HealthCare United Federal Credit Union offers you a number of other free or discounted services to its members. These services are simply meant to help enhance your benefits as a member of the credit union.
Direct Deposit
Any recurring payment (i.e. Government check, Income tax return, payroll check, Social Security payment, Veterans’ disbursement, etc.) can be deposited directly to your Credit Union Savings or Checking account. Direct Deposit eliminates the fear of lost or stolen checks. Funds are credited to the account on the same day that you would normally receive your check in the mail.
Payroll Deduction
Payroll Deduction (if offered by your employer) is a free service that allows you to automatically deposit money into your HealthCare United FCU account directly from your paycheck! You choose the amount and just watch your savings grow! It is an effective way to budget your hard-earned dollars.
Travelers Cheques
Nothing ruins a trip faster than having your wallet lost or stolen. If you lose cash, it's gone. However, Travelers Cheques can be replaced, virtually anywhere in the world, usually within 24 hours. Therefore, they let you bring along peace of mind every time you travel.
Travelers cheques are available to our members at a minimum fee of $1.00 for every $100.00 purchase. To obtain travelers cheques, simply come into the Credit Union office and our friendly staff will do the rest.
Money Orders
For those times when you can't use a personal check, money orders are an easy way to make payments. For a minimal fee, you can purchase money orders at the credit union for any amount up to $500.
MasterCard Debit Card
For members who have a Checking account, a MasterCard Debit card is available. Using this card enables the member to make purchases, the amounts of which are deducted directly from the members’ checking account balance. In addition, this card may be used at any Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) to withdraw funds from either Savings or Checking account.
Overdraft Protection
HealthCare United Federal Credit Union offers overdraft protection to protect against high fees and embarrassment associated with "bounced checks". You can select another checking, share, or credit card to be used for automatic transfer in the event funds are not available to pay an item.
Voice Response System
Members, at their convenience, may call to check the balance on their savings and checking accounts, transfer funds between them, or have funds withdrawn and a check mailed. This service is at your fingertips 24/7.
Coin Machine
The coin machine allows credit union members and the community to deposit their loose coins into the automatic coin-counting machine, receive a printed voucher for their deposited amount, and then turn that voucher into cash at the teller window.
Notary Public
HealthCare United Federal Credit Union has employees that are able to notarize your documents. This service is free to all members of the credit union. Please bring your state- or government-issued identification such as your driver's license or passport when you come in to have your documents notarized.
